He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Wallace Heilig Springs and Gus Heilig; his brother Jennings Heilig; and his sister-in-law Nancy Heilig. He is survived by: his wife Susan Heilig; his daughter Kathy Grava (Andra); his sister-in-law Tina Sloan (Donnie); his niece Deb Heilig (Loretta); his nephew Jennings "Butch" Heilig; his grandchildren, Krista Madden (Timothy), James Sloan (Molly) and Karl Grava (Michaele); his great grandchildren, Timothy "Trey" Madden, Thomas Madden, Theodore Madden, Robin Sloan and Ivy Sloan; and his close friend Margaret Strowbridge.
