He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert F. Hemstreet and Clara Jean Sorensen. He is survived by: his wife Helen Kay Hemstreet of Centerville; his children, Christina Gibson of Warner Robins, Michael Hemstreet of Macon and Cynthia Munn (Keith) of Warner Robins; his grandchildren, Michael Gibson (Candace), Bryan Gibson (Ashley), Allison Cornog (Dustin), Alexis Mauro, Kaitlyn and Austin Hemstreet; and his brother Frank Hemstreet (Janice) of Portage, MI.. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
