She was predeceased by: her father Doc Van McCoy, Jr.; and her sister Loran McCoy. She is survived by: her mother Barbara Jean McCoy; her husband Julius J. Raines; her children, Kala Raines, Shayla Raines and Kenan Raines; her siblings, Doc McCoy (Beverly) of Waveland, MS and Kenneth McCoy (Orlencia) of Athens; and her sister-in-law Regina Whitehurst (Vicki James). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted children all over the world, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to support missions in memory of Barbara Vanette Raines to Trumpet of the Lord Ministries, P.O. Box 2491, Warner Robins, 31095-2491.
