She was predeceased by: her parents, Mero Cooper and Robert Peterson; her husband James L. Hopper, Sr.; and her brothers, Jerry Cooper and Riley Ware.

She is survived by: her son Carlos Brown, Jr.; her sisters, Vivian Walker and JoAnn Cooper; her grandchildren, Carlos Brown, III, Camaren Brown, Caniyla Brown and Davione Lindon; and her siblings' children, Jessica Cooper, Cedric Collins, Javarius Cooper, Jerrod Cooper and Torrance Walker (Mattie Mae Gibbs). She is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
