He was predeceased by: his parents, Maybelle Gibby and Arthur Gibby; his daughter Deborah A. Cook; his brothers, Dean and Clinton Gibby; and his grandson Timothy Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Gibby; his sons, Kenneth P. Gibby (Regina) and Charles A. Gibby (Teresa); his grandchildren, Tim Cook, Sara Jones (Michael), Charles Gibby (Brandy), Bobby Gibby (Megan), Dana Rowan (Kyle), Ginger Gibby and Phillip Gibby (Brittany); and his sisters, Peggy Christine Gibby Sapp and Katherine G. Tucker. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
