He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Tyler and Carrie Johnson Tyler; his wife Mary Louise McKinley; and his sisters, Martha Helen Windham, Evelyn I. Schwartz and Alice Christian.

He is survived by: his close friend Louise Tyler; his sons, Greg Tyler (Cynthia) of Northport, Gene Tyler (Ellen) of Brownville and Cliff Tyler (Diane) of Bonaire; his grandchildren, Fletcher, Jon, Kate, Chris, Alex and Phillip; and his great grandchildren, Barrett, Carter and J. J. Charles'.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Charles to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1322 Feagin Mill Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
