He was predeceased by: his parents, Nero Hodges, Sr. and Emma Mae Cox Hodges. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Halliburton Hodges; his son Eugene Hodges, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Shantiqua K. Lamar Hodges of Warner Robins, Georgia; his grandson Jayson R. Hodges; and his siblings, Nero Hodges, Jr. (Marilyn) of Warner Robins, Geraldine Luckett (T. E.) of Orlando, Florida, Elizabeth Canady (Charlie) of Byron, Lessie Bell Jackson (Knight) of Warner Robins, Sharon Diane Richardson (Willie) of Dublin, Betty Jean Zanders (Michael) of Warner Robins, Amie Grace (Bruce) of Byron, Rosalyn Moore of Byron and Jeanette Smith of Byron.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to a fund benefiting Eugene "Gene" Hodges, Sr. grandchildren's college funds.
