He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Quattlebaum and Alene Quattlebaum; his granddaughter Sarah Rae Peller; and his brothers, Al and Ed Quattlebaum.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Fair Short; his children, Troy Short, Lori Short (Danny), Jody Mitchell (Dawn) and Jamie Mitchell (Shelley); his grandchildren, Brett (Caroline), Dustin (Katie), Kaylee (Kyle), Kelsey (Jacob), Zade (Kasey), Hannah, Tori, Alex (David), Grant (Ella), Natalie (Dylan), Sophia and Jersie (Seth); and his great grandchildren, Drew, Kamdyn, Frankie, Kelly Grace, Kennedy, Selena, Addi, Lyla of Zora, JT, Dawn Lee, Karson, Flint, Zeb, Rowan, Emersyn and Onyx.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Andersonville National Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made in honor of Horace to a charity of your choosing.
