He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clyde Smith, Sr. and Harriett Rodgers Smith; and his grandsons, Evan Maddox and Phillip Maddox. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Royal Smith; his daughters, Deborah "Debbie" Harkness (Paul) and Rebecca "Becky" Maddox (Mickey); his grandchildren, Hunter Harkness, Luke Culpepper, Annie Culpepper Hayes (Joshua), Aubrey Maddox (Nicole) and Owen Maddox (Lucy); and his brothers, George Early Smith, Robert Clyde Smith, Jr. and Jeffery Allen Smith (Teresa). He is also survived by his many great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
