He was predeceased by: his father John Henry Luwisch; his siblings, Freddie Luwisch, Robert "Bobby" Luwisch and Wanda Loeffler; and his nephew Donald Luwisch.

He is survived by: his wife Bernadette Luwisch; his children, John Henry Luwisch, Sr. (Joni) and Edna Moncrief (Mo Jacobs); his grandchildren, Barbara Soft, Marie Soft, Johnny Luwisch, Jr. and Joy Luwisch; his nephew Johnny Henry Luwisch; and his nieces, Judy and Lourie. He is also survived by friends and family.
