She was predeceased by: her parents, George Aubrey Gunter, Sr. and Estelle Hardison Gunter; her husband Frank Robert Carlson, Jr.; her siblings, Donny, James, Gene, Fred, George Gunter and Ruby Watkins; and her friend Geraldine Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, Allyn Carlson (Gail) of Warner Robins and Lisa Heard (Greg) of Cumming, Georgia; her grandchildren, James Carlson (Brena), Jessica Rush (Chad), Lindsay Heard (Andy), Matthew Heard, Leah Church, Catherine Kennedy and Mattie Kennedy; and her great grandchildren, Evan, Hadley and Reed Rush. She is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Montine Elizabeth Carlson to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
