Richard DeShong Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard DeShong of Warner Robins, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 30, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Richard leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Richard may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul DeShong and Lucille DeShong (Pompa); and his brother Keith DeShong. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn DeShong (Shaw); his children, Jennifer Graham and Kevin DeShong (Brandi); and his grandchildren, Jacob Graham, Nora DeShong and Wyatt DeShong. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel (2932 US Hwy 41, Fort Valley, GA 31030). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Andersonville National Cemetery.
