He was predeceased by: his wife Rosie Lee Roberson Phoebus; his parents, Noble Phoebus and Gladys Sink Phoebus; his son James Phoebus; and his brother Earl Phoebus.

He is survived by: his daughter Dorothy P. Hullett (Bruce); his grandchildren, Evan Hullett (Mandy) and Cameron Hullett; his great grandchildren, Mason, Gracyn and Parker; and his brother Bill Phoebus.
