It is with sadness that the passing of Russell William Matthews Jr. of Warner Robins, Georgia is shared. Russell, born on March 15, 1941, passed away on September 26, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell William Matthews, Sr. and Laura Lee Haskins Goodrich; his son Russell "Russ" William Matthews, III; his sister Laura Gail Arrington; and his sister-in-law Sheila Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Morrow Matthews; his grandson Quintin Matthews; his brothers, David Matthews (Pam), Duncan Matthews and Terry Collins (Mary); his brother-in-law Vic Morrow (Vickie); and his pet Cricket. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the New Elim Baptist Church (4368 Hartley Bridge Rd, Macon, GA 31216). A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
