He is survived by: his wife Marsha; his children, Kimberly Melvin of Warner Robins, Georgia, Jody Melvin of Bonaire and Kristy Woods of Roy, Utah; his brother John "Buddy" Melvin (Jan); and his former wife Judy Culpepper.
