She was predeceased by: her parents, Lihue Thompson and Dovie Peacock; her husband Perry Bateman; her granddaughter Ariel Short; her son-in-law Rodney Short; and her brothers, Thomas, Raymond and Buddy Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughter Pamela Short; her grandson Brandon Short; her sister Jeannette Farmer; her goddaughter Tara Land Guidry; her nieces, Sharon and Debbie; her caregiver Connie; and her uncle Perry. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
