He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Price of Warner Robins; his sister Nymphea Miller of Newport, PA; his daughters, Jennifer Lewis of Kathleen, GA and Diana Perkins of Fredericksburg, VA; and his grandchildren, Laci Mize, Brea Nico of Kathleen, GA, Alexander, Austin and Rachel Iero.

Van was a chemist, a researcher with a lifelong curiosity and wanted his body donated for scientific research, although he was unable to do this.
