He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Long of Washington and Lois Rape Long; and his siblings, Barbara Stewart and Homer Long, Jr. of Washington. He is survived by: his wife Vivian Thomson Long; his children, William Derrell Long, Jr. (Doris) and Jackie Dean (Mark); his grandchildren, Adrien Wheeler (Chad), Derrell Long III (Brittany), Nathan Dean (Kali), Caleb Dean (Whitney) and Landon Andrews; his great grandchildren, Emily Long, Nova Long and Sadie Dean; and his sisters, Catherine Jones and Kay Bailey (Thomas). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
