It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William W Avant Sr. of Warner Robins, Georgia, who passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David M. Avant Sr. and Minnie Frances Harris Avant; and his wife Betty Jane Johnson Avant. He is survived by: his children, Paula A. Butts of Sugar Valley, William W. Avant Jr. (Janet) of Sandersville and Shelia A. Smith of Deepstep; his grandchildren, Shanna Butts, Stacey Sweklo (John), Stephanie Gray (Derek), Michelle Kerlin (Nathan), Julie Daring (B. J.), William Avant III (Mariah), Valerie Avant, Connor Smith, Logan Smith and Mallory Smith (Nathan Hodges); and his siblings, Larry Avant of Deepstep, David Avant (Sandra) of Deepstep and Brenda Caruthers. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
