She was predeceased by: her parents, William Eli Stewart of Thomson and Pauline Smith Stewart of Thomson; her husband Alvin T. Downs, Jr.; her sons, John Alvin Downs and William Arthur Downs; and her brothers, James Eli Stewart, Arthur Eugene Stewart (Gene) and William Stewart (Junior).
She is survived by: her sister Kathryn Stewart Downs Widup; her grandson Jonathon Downs; her daughter-in-law Kim Downs Quarles; and her children, Rebekah, Rachel, Carrie, Jessie and Leah Culpepper. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
