He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Julian May and Buelah Stribling May; his wife Maxine Smith May; and his son Curry Julian May, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Caroline May Echols (Charles Ernest Echols, Jr.); his daughter-in-law Margaret Adamson May; his brother Charles Edward May; his nephew Robert Julian May; and his grandchildren, Virginia May Echols, John William Echols, McClendon Reeves May and Curry Julian May, III.
