She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Norman Vinson and Anna Lou Chastain Vinson; her husband William John Kortrey; and her brothers, Alvin Vinson and Gene Vinson.
She is survived by: her son Ken Davis (Barbara Davis); her brother Jerry Vinson (Kriss Vinson); her granddaughters, Nina Davis Posey and Amber Davis Sullivan (Roland); her great grandchildren, Jacob Posey, Alex Posey, Gabe Sullivan, Vayda Sullivan and Teddy Sullivan; and her friend John McTier. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ruth's passion for animals and her community shone brightly, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Washington Wilkes Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 121, Washington, GA 30673, in her honor.
