He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyce Patterson Lance and Sara Bell Lance; his wife Sue Johnson Lance; his son-in-law Charles Foxworth; and his siblings, Boyce Lance Jr., Chris Lance, Clarence Lance, Guy Lance, John Lance and Sara Ann Dees.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Foxworth of Washington, Georgia, James Lance (Keeley) of Grovetown, Georgia and Elizabeth Conway (Chris) of Athens, Georgia.; and his grandchildren, Andrew Lance, Allen Lance, Cooper Lance and Addy Grace Lance. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hopkins Funeral Home (416 E Robert Toombs Ave, Washington, GA 30673). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Washington First Baptist Church (105 W Robert Toombs Ave, Washington, GA 30673). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at the Cliffords Grove Baptist Church (3678 Lundburg Rd, Washington, GA 30673).
