Sarah Thorpe wrote a sympathy message

“Aunt Gail. I am so sad to hear of Uncle Jays' passing. You and Uncle Jay gave me so many happy memories of spending summers in Georgia with Papa. Uncle Jay was the #1 best storyteller there ever was. He would get so tickled at himself and laugh while telling one of his stories. I will never forget his infectious laugh, his big, huge heart and how kind he was. I hope you find peace in a lifetime of memories. You are in my prayers always. I love and miss you, Sarah”
