We are sad to announce that on September 22, 2025, at the age of 89, Michael George Gavrielides Sr. (Watkinsville, Georgia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gavrielides and Merope Groutas Gavrielides; and his sisters, Pagona Poumos and Agathe Matsouka. He is survived by: his wife Harriette May Gavrielides; his children, Bobbe Gillis (Peter), George Gavrielides (Dana), Agathe Gabriel and Mike Gavrielides (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Jacob Gavrielides, Mandy Gillis, Stanley Gillis, George Gavrielides, Bradley Gavrielides, Michael Gavrielides, III and Stephanos Gavrielides; his great grandchildren, Landen Gavrielides and Eden Gavrielides; and his granddaughter Penelope Gavrielides.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church (3761 Mars Hill Rd, Watkinsville, GA 30677). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at the Oconee Hill Cemetery (297 Cemetery St, Athens, GA 30605).
