He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Billy and Carolyn Purvis Day; and his siblings, Jimmy Day, Sr., Willie Eric Day, Luther Darrell Day and Gail Day Wiley.
He is survived by: his son John David Day, Jr. (Tabatha) of Waycross; his grandson Oliver; his caregiver Kristie Quick (Aaron) of Waycross; Madison and Mackenzie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
