She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Guy and Annie Mae Cochran Duncan; her grandson-in-law Bill Buckley; her great grandchild Henry Clark; and her grandmothers, Sandra McKelvin, Jackie Belt, Precious Elvington, Danielle Holmes, Kena McKelvin, Gloria Nixon, Maxine Robertson, Destiny Ryals and Toshi White.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Getter, Lamar Blount (Lyn), Becky Clark (George) and Steve Blount (Susan); her grandchildren, Amy Ferrell (Bill Buckley), Richy Ferrell (Lizzie), Deborah Blount, Ellen Hake (Brian), David Clark (Elisabeth), Julie Norman (Brian), Sarah Oster (Aaron), Andrew Clark (Ariel), Duncan Blount (Komal) and Drew Blount (Joyce); her significant other Leon L. Blount; her grandsons-in-law, Richy Ferrell, Duncan Blount, Drew Blount, David Clark, Andrew Clark, Brian Hake, Aaron Oster and Brian Norman; her caregiver Buddie; and her niece Wendy Sylvester (Korianne Yawn). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home and Crematory (130 Screven Ave, Waycross, GA 31501). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Waycross or Hospice Satilla, in appreciation for the compassionate way they served Doris with excellence over the past year and met her needs during her illness.
