He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington Grant, Sr. and Ollie Mae Blackshear Grant. He is survived by: his fiancé Latrece Moore of Waycross; his children, Melzella Grant of Waycross, Symone Grant of Atlanta and George Grant of Homerville; his stepson Robert Owens II; his grandchildren, Lorenzo Love, Cameron Hammond, Harlan Ingram, Kyrion Carter and Tre Owens; and his brother Cornelius B. Grant (Alisha) of Waycross.
