With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gwendolyn Ann Griffis of Waycross, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 29, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Jordan Murphy and Kathleen Inman Rowell; and her siblings, Lawrence Peek, Jerry Murphy of Fayetteville, NC, Mary Sue Mixon of Jacksonville, FL. and Janice Henck of Jacksonville, FL..
She is survived by: her husband Tommy W. Griffis of Waycross; her son Robbie Griffis of Waycross; her sisters, Liz Henck of Baldwin and Patsy Strickland (Henry) of Waycross; and her sisters-in-law, Doris Peek of Homerville and Laurell Gillis (Neal) of Pearson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Music Funeral Home (1503 Tebeau St, Waycross, GA 31501). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501, or House of Hope Waycross, 109 Thomas St. Waycross, GA 31501.
