He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Cuyler Chancey and Stella White Chancey; his son George Chancey; and his siblings, D. J. Corbett, Coleman Chancey, Charles Chancey and Reba Jean Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Marisa Chancey of Waycross; his children, Joe Chancey (Belinda) of Peachtree Corners, John Chancey (Ann) of Waycross, Javier Chancey (Sonia) of Kingsland and Sonya Peacock (Scott Patterson) of Statham, Georgia; his grandchildren, Joshua Chancey (Kate), Samantha Vandergriend (Derek), Chelsie Smith (Zack), Katelyn Chancey, Garrett Chancey, Zachary Chancey, Gable Peacock and Layla Peacock; his great grandchildren, Cuyler Smith, Chancey Mae Smith and Mills Smith; and his brother Chester Chancey of Waycross. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
