She was predeceased by : her parents, James Alton Lee and Maynard Cansler Lee; and her siblings, James A. Lee, Jr. and Eugenia Lee. She is survived by : her husband John Kuyk Shepherd; her sons, John Kuyk Shepherd, Jr. (Linda), Samuel James Shepherd (Chris) and Stephen Lee Shepherd; and her grandson John Kuyk Shepherd, III of Boone, NC..
