He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Petty and Sadie Bell Steedley Petty. He is survived by: his wife Merlene Lewis Petty of Waycross; his children, Holli Petty Huelfer (Evan) of Tyrone and Edward Scott Petty (Christie) of Waycross; his grandchildren, Evan "Drew" Huelfer Jr. (Kathryn), Abigail Bjelcevic (Stefan), Lily Huelfer, Walker Petty, Harper Petty, Lizzie Petty and Anna Petty; and his great grandchildren, Evan Huelfer III and Ellis Huelfer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Music Funeral Home (1503 Tebeau St, Waycross, GA 31501). A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church (201 Ava St, Waycross, GA 31501).
