It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary L. Bennett of Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Henry and Annie Lou Fulmer Whitlock; her husband Harold C. Bennett; her siblings, Daniel Thomas Goldman, James Henry Whitlock, Emery Whitlock (Alice), Lila Whitlock Hendrix (McCoy) and Trannie W. Sorrow (William); and her siblings-in-law, Dealva Bennett Roberts (Leon, Jr.), Adeline Bennett Meeker (Everett, Jr.), Melda Bennett Van Iderstyne (Dick), Mamie Bennett Severin (Reed), James Newell Bennett (Oletha), Hugh Dorsey Bennett (Georgie) of James Lawton and Bennett (Ruth).
She is survived by: her children, Keith L. Bennett (Jaime) of Mershon, Craig Bennett (Mary Beth) of Mershon, Sonya B. Clark of Waycross and Wendy B. Puryear (Doug) of Mershon; her grandchildren, Cole Bennett, Cody Bennett, Spencer Clark (Kristine), Megan Bennett (Andrew), Mary Courtney Puryear, Mamie Grooms (McKinley), Bennett Puryear and Matthew Shell (Danielle); and her great grandchildren, Hazely Shell and Maelyn Shell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (670 Main St, Blackshear, GA 31516). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
