It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin R. Chancey Jr. of Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin R. Chancey, Sr. and Ailene Harris Chancey; his siblings, Mary Chancey, Jonell Chancey and Donald Chancey; and his sons-in-law, Alvin C. Manac and Timmy Dryden.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Mullis of Waycross, Bonnie Dryden of Waycross, Teresa Manac of Waycross, Melvin R. Chancey III of Waycross and David E. Chancey (Lisa) of Waycross; his grandchildren, Casey Chancey, Jordan Chancey, Logan Miller, Carly Holbrook, Brett Mullis and Brianna Mullis; and his great grandchildren, Delila Miller, Dylan Mullis, Dalton Mullis and Kameron Mullis. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
