We announce the death of Roger William Bennett (Waycross, Georgia), who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 68. Roger will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roby Junior Bennett and Velma Griffin Rigdon; and his sisters, Linda Gail Forbus and Glenda Holcombe. He is survived by: his daughter Heather Lopez (Stanley) of Augusta, GA; his grandsons, Andrew and Aiden Lopez of Augusta, GA; his siblings, Tommy Rigdon, Wayne Bennett, Julie Sikes, Brenda Mock, David Bennett and Daniel Bennett; his niece McKenzie Landon (Evan); his nephews, Ben Forbus (Kristina) and Josh Rigdon (Adrianna); and his close friend Lanna K. Smith. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Music Funeral Home (1503 Tebeau St, Waycross, GA 31501). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way Waycross, GA 31501.
