He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Taft and Fannie Jane Wilson Taft; and his siblings, Jackie Taft, Margie Barnett, Josie Harper, Ruby Sellers, Lehura Delk, Betty Murray and Dot Price.

He is survived by: his sister Virginia Walden of Waycross; and his sister-in-law Shirley Taft of Huntsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
