It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley James of Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Frank Patterson and Myrtie Brannen Patterson; her husband Rev. Benjamin Fred James; her son Johnny "J. J." James; her grandson Dakota James; her son-in-law Philip King; and her siblings, Ivesta Flowers, Frank Patterson, Bill Patterson, Margie Stone, Mildred Land, Mary Wilson and Joyce Peacock.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa King of Waycross, Sharon Rogers (Casey) of Kennesaw, Georgia and Benji Rowland (Britni) of Tifton; her grandchildren, Brent King (Melissa) of Woodstock, Jared King (Ashley) of Waycross, Ryan King (Tristan) of Waycross, Amber Corbitt of Limerick, Matt Corbitt of Atlanta, Aaron Corbitt of Kennesaw, Josh James (Val) of Nahunta, Hali Shropshire (Christopher) of Okinawa, Courtney James of Paris, Savanna Posekany (Nicholas) of Paris and Sommer James (Mikalea) of Paris; her great grandchildren, Brayden Rowland, Briggs Rowland, Bentley Rowland, Seth King, Sofia King, Mazie, Graham King, Claire King, Oliver Altman, Gavin Miller, Keegan Miller, Kyomi James, Kikiyo James, Kaia James, Harrison Shropshire, Maxwell Shropshire, Oliver Shropshire and Matthew Bradford Corbitt III; and her sister Glenda Roberson of Patterson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
