He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommie C. Smith and Nora Pittman; his wife Elaine Pierce Smith; and his siblings, Charles Smith and Gwen Rogers.
He is survived by: his sons, Donnie Smith (Shannon) of Waynesville, Tony Smith (Susan) of Milton and Danny Smith (Kim) of Blackshear; his grandchildren, Jenny Via (James), Jay DePratter (Amanda), Joey DePratter, Maggie Smith, Maddie Smith, Daniel Smith (Rebecca), Bryan Smith and Anna Smith; and his great grandchildren, Levi, Walker, Waylon, Karson, Klein and Sawyer. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
