He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgal Morris Chesser and Sarah Luverne Dowling Hall; his daughter Debra Chesser; his great grandchild Hunter Dean Crews; his uncle John Chesser (Lillie Mae); and his sisters, Doris Sanders, Peggy Peck and Vanessa Whalen.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Chesser of Schlatterville; his daughters, Shirleen Dunn (Charles) of Schlatterville and Teresa Hoskins (Cecil) of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Christopher Dunn (Robyn), Amanda Ottensmeyer (Justin), Bethany Crews (Ronnie), Aaron Hoskins (Katie) and Christen Miller (Tim); his great grandchildren, Mason Crews, Grant Ottensmeyer, Levi Crews, Gavin Dunn, Charlotte Ottensmeyer, Charlotte Hoskins, Samuel Miller, William Hoskins, Aslyn Dunn, Ruby Miller and Asher Miller; his stepgreat-granddaughter Mabree Crews Boon (Zachary); and his siblings, Thomas Chesser (Lena), Lester Chesser, Lottie Jordan (Tommy), Connie Hiott (Mark) and Betty Jo Hickox (Frank). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (7136 Central Ave, Waycross, GA 31503). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
