He is survived by : his wife Ruth Grimes; his daughter Mary Catherine Wysong (Chris); his grandchild Ansley Paige; his brother Charles Brent Grimes, Sr. (Laura); his niece Whitley Fleenor (James); and his nephew Charles Brent Grimes, Jr..

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory (3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
