He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Smith, and Arlie Smith, Sr.; and his grandson A. J. Allen. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Runnette Smith; his children, Don E. Smith (Debra) and Lynn White (Rob); and his grandchildren, Dawn Mahaffey (J. T. Jackson), Devin Marchman (Billy), Melissa Barefield (Shawn) and Hadley Coble (Joel). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; five nieces; and five nephews.
