He is survived by: his daughter Mary-Lynn Murray Pennington (Reid); his grandsons, Thomas Daniel Pennington of Statesboro and Davis Murray Pennington of Statesboro; his siblings, Karen Murray Rowland (Tommy) of Vidette, Stephen Benson Murray, Sr. (Jennifer) of Waynesboro and Brian Carroll Murray (Mary Gusta) of Waynesboro; his nieces and nephews, Ryan Rowland (Greer), Tyler Benson Rowland (Lacey), Hallie Ann Murray (Zeb), Stephen Benson Murray, Jr. (Kate) and Brian Roberts Murray; and his cousin Alan Gelderman (Deborah) of Waynesboro.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Burke Memorial Gardens (Waynesboro, GA 30830). Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
