She was predeceased by : her parents, James Odom and Pearl Odom; her husband James Woodrow Barefield; her children, Sylvia Moore, James Barefield Jr., Timothy Barefield, Thomas Barefield and Virginia Day; and her grandchildren, Julie Barefield, Jessica Hopper, Clay Barefield, Brian Godbee and Michelle Mobley.

She is survived by : her children, Lynn Myers (Billy), Ralph Barefield (Lena), Randy Barefield, Mary Godbee and Susan Jones (Bob); and her children-in-law, Susie Barefield and Larry Day. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great- grandchildren.
