It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilda Rutland (Waynesboro, Georgia), who passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jasper Welton and Fathie Jane Covington Newton; her husband James Lewis Rutland; and her sisters, Thelma, Elsie, Lou, Margaret and Ruth.
She is survived by: her son James Michael Rutland (Lynn) of Hephzibah, GA; her granddaughter April Gay (Jeremy); her great grandchild Sadie Gay; her nephews, Robert Wayne Ponder and George Newton Ponder; her great-nephews, Dane McLeod, Brian McLeod, Alan McLeod and Steve McLeod; and her great-niece Cathy McLeod Smith.
