He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobson Gill and Ada Gill; and his daughter Christy Lynn Gill. He is survived by: his wife Delores Mae Duncan Gill; his children, Rodney Gill, Amy Thompson (John) and Valerie Murphy (Danny); his grandchildren, Jeremy Gill (Christen), Laura Gill, Aaron Thompson, Kyra Thompson and Kena Hunter (Jacob); his great grandchildren, Ruby Gill, Charles Gill, Railey Hunter and Jasper Hunter; and his half-sisters, Lisa, Rachel and Carolyn Jane "Cricket". He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home (506 Hill St, LaGrange, GA 30241).
