It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eva Murphy Benjamin of West Point, Georgia, who passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Willie Murphy, Sr. and Minnie Clyde Murphy; her husband Sephus Benjamin; and her sisters, Gladys "Bit" Johnson and Georgia Ann Stafford of West Point.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia "John" Gilder and Lamar "Anita" Murphy of West Point, Georgia; her grandchildren, Doresa Gilder, Junia, Ronicka and Jamanski "Yolanda" Flournoy; her great grandchildren, Dezaria, Ethan and Jace; her siblings, Linda Wortham of Atlanta, Sarah Murphy of West Point, Gail Murphy of West Point, Carolyn Murphy of West Point, George "Gloria" Murphy, Jr. and Vincent "Diane" Murphy; and her daughter Valerie Heard. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
