Hazel Burbridge Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Burbridge of Whigham, Georgia, who passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lorenza Freedman Hooks and Ruth Horne Hooks Warren; her husbands, Cecil Maurice Rykard, Sr. and Carl Burbridge; her sons, Maurice Glenn Rykard, Sr. and Perry Latham Rykard; her siblings, Jean Ellen Harris (Danny Harris, Sr.) and Pearl Elizabeth Goodbread (John); her grandchildren, Benjamin Charles Rykard and Tiffany Elaine Rykard; her great grandchild Michael Dickson; and her niece Catherine Ellen Brock.

She is survived by: her children, Cecil Maurice Rykard, Jr. (Connie) and Maurica Anne Rykard; her grandchildren, Glenn Rykard, Amanda Rykard, Brittany Cason (James) and Thomas Bowman (Cateasha); and her siblings-in-law, Bobby R. Rykard and Charlotte Hagemann. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, 8 nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and loads of friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Whigham First Baptist Church (149 N Mcgriff St, Whigham, GA 39897). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
