He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Sue Greeson Carter; his daughter Laurie Beth Carter; and his brother Jimmy Carter. He is survived by: his grandchild Talisa Reece (Billy Bevard); his great grandchildren, R. J. Bevard and Lilliana Reece; and his sisters, Carol and Elaine Carter.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Maddox Memorial. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Maddox Memorial. A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at the Rose Hill Cemetery (188 Melrose St, Winder, GA 30680).
