Merita Casper touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband James Willie Austin; her daughter Linda Gail Austin Phillips; her parents, Silmon Casper and Viola Fulcher Casper; and her siblings, Andrew, Thomas, Ray Casper, Louise Mealear, Montine Hunter and Jean Scogins.

She is survived by: her children, Kay Everette (Mike) of Bethlehem, Nancy Jan Toole of Baldwin, James Ronald Austin (Mary) of Oakwood and Pamela Ann Hardy (Marlon) of Jefferson; and her grandchildren, Todd Everette, Teri Everette, Chris Toole, Susan Hardegree, Jammie Brown, Trey Phillips, Brandi Cotton and Marla Hardy. She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
