He was predeceased by: his parents, S. Howard Smith and Sara Deal Smith; and his aunt Belle Deal. He is survived by: his wife Ivy Newborn Smith of Winston; his children, Kevin Smith of Villa Rica, GA and Emily Seabrook of Winston, GA; his children-in-law, Hannah Smith and David Seabrook; his siblings, Bobby, Hope Smith, Rodney and Sandy Smith; his grandchildren, Kristian Alayna Nailen (Jason), Carter Seabrook and Sarah Kate Seabrook; and his great grandchildren, Freya, Roselia and Luella Nailen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jones-Wynn Douglas Chapel (2189 Midway Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Union Grove Baptist Church (6517 Union Grove Rd, Lithia Springs, GA 30122).
