He was predeceased by: his parents, S. Howard Smith and Sara Deal Smith; and his aunt Belle Deal. He is survived by: his wife Ivy Newborn Smith of Winston; his children, Kevin Smith of Villa Rica, GA and Emily Seabrook of Winston, GA; his children-in-law, Hannah Smith and David Seabrook; his siblings, Bobby, Hope Smith, Rodney and Sandy Smith; his grandchildren, Kristian Alayna Nailen (Jason), Carter Seabrook and Sarah Kate Seabrook; and his great grandchildren, Freya, Roselia and Luella Nailen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
